Card Game Rules: Nordic & Classic Games
Find clear rules for Nordic card games you can play with a standard deck. Browse by player count, category, age, and playing time.
Casino (alias Cassino, Royal Casino, Kasino or Nordic Casino)
Fish cards off the table, set up builds you can collect later and chase the ten of diamonds and the aces.
Fan Tan (alias Sevens, Parliament, Domino or Card Dominoes)
Build up and down from the sevens in each suit and be first to shed your hand. Every pass costs a point.
Pyramid Solitaire (alias Pyramid, Tut's Tomb, King Tut, Thirteen, Solitaire 13, Pile of Twenty-Eight or Tower of Twenty-Eight)
Pair up cards that add to 13 and take the pyramid apart. Kings need no partner at all.
500 Rummy (alias 500, Rummy 500, 500 Rum or Pinochle Rummy)
Lay down groups and sequences, dig into the discard pile for the card you need, and pass 500 points first.
President (alias Scum, Bum, Bum and President or President and Slave)
Empty your hand first and take the top title. Twos beat every other card, and the bum hands over their best two.
Idiot (alias Palace or Karma)
Empty your hand before anyone else. Twos reset the pile, tens burn it, and the last player holding cards is the idiot.
Crazy Eights (alias Eights, Switch, Mau Mau, Swedish Rummy or Rockaway)
Match the top card by suit or rank, and any eight lets you call a new suit. The fewest points wins.
Stress (alias James Bond or Atlantis)
Swap cards with the four in the middle until every pile holds four of a kind, then shout Stress before anyone else.
24 (alias Twenty-Four)
Use four numbers and basic math to make 24. A good way to practice mental math and logical thinking.
