Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

This policy explains how nordiccardgames.com handles information when you visit the site. The site has no user accounts and does not ask you to submit personal profiles.

Who is responsible

The site is operated by Runar Ovesen Hjerpbakk in Trondheim, Norway. Questions about privacy can be sent to [email protected].

Information used by the site

Delivery and security

The hosting and network providers process ordinary request and security data, such as IP address, time, requested address, referrer and browser or device information. This is needed to deliver the pages, prevent abuse and diagnose failures.

Cookieless analytics

The site uses a self-hosted Umami installation through the site's own domain. Umami is configured without analytics cookies and is used for aggregate statistics. The categories processed include page address and title, referrer, broad browser, operating-system, device, screen and language information, and coarse country or region inferred from the network connection. Creator-promotion events also include the promotion identifier and format, and whether it was shown or clicked. Names and email addresses are not intentionally sent to Umami.

Storage on your device

The site uses local browser storage for your selected game-list sorting and for game-rule edits you choose to save. These preferences remain on your device until you remove them in the site or clear browser data.

Google AdSense

Nordic Card Games uses Google AdSense on approved pages. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or local browser storage and process information such as IP address, browser and device details, the page viewed, approximate location and ad interactions. Ads may be personalized or limited/non-personalized depending on applicable law, consent signals and Google's settings.

Read how Google uses information from partner sites, Google's privacy policy, and manage ad choices in My Ad Center. This privacy policy is information, not a consent mechanism. If an advertising privacy choice is shown, use that control to accept, reject or adjust the available purposes.

Creator promotions and external links

Some placements promote sites, apps or projects made by the operator. Aggregate impressions and clicks are measured as described above. Following an external link sends the destination the normal request information needed to open its page; the destination's own privacy policy then applies.

Purposes and legal basis

Technical processing is used to provide and secure the site. Cookieless aggregate measurement and creator-promotion measurement support the legitimate interests of understanding and funding the site with limited privacy impact. Advertising storage or personalization relies on consent where applicable; other advertising processing may be based on legitimate interests or another basis identified by Google and its partners.

Processors and transfers

Hosting, content-delivery, security and analytics infrastructure providers process information on the operator's behalf. Google and its advertising partners process advertising data under their own terms. These providers may process information outside Norway or the EEA. Where required, transfers are protected by provider safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Browser preferences stay on your device until you clear them. Technical logs, aggregate analytics and advertising records are retained only for the operational, security, reporting or legal needs of the operator and relevant providers, then deleted or aggregated according to their configured retention practices. No single fixed period applies to every category.

Your rights

Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact [email protected]. You may also complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian data protection authority.

Changes

This page will be updated when the site's data use or providers materially change.
